How It Works

1

Choose your settings

Select the bookmakers you use, your total stake, ROI range and UK alert times. Arb, 1.10 and Best Bet Telegram messages can be muted independently.

2

Wait for a matching alert

The global scanner keeps running. Telegram only messages you when the ROI, time and complete bookmaker combination match your personal settings.

3

Verify before betting

Open both betting sites and confirm the event, competition, kickoff, market, period, line, selection and current odds. Do not rely on the alert alone.

4

Place both sides promptly

Use the displayed stakes only after checking both prices are still available. If either price or market changes, recalculate or abandon the opportunity.

Exchange guide

Understanding a BACK/LAY arb

A lay bet means you are betting that a selection will not happen. You are effectively taking the bookmaker side of another customer’s back bet.

BACK

Sportsbook side

Back the selection to happen at the sportsbook. Your sportsbook stake is lost if that selection does not win.

LAY

Exchange side

Lay the same selection on the Exchange. If the selection loses, you receive the lay stake as winnings, less Exchange commission.

LIABILITY

Maximum Exchange loss

Liability is the amount the Exchange reserves from your balance if the laid selection wins. It is calculated as lay stake × (lay odds − 1).

LIQUIDITY

Price must be available

The required lay stake must be available at the quoted lay odds. Unmatched or partially matched bets leave you exposed.

Worked example

You back a team for £55 at 2.10 and lay it for £59 at 1.76. The Exchange reserves £44.84 liability. If the team wins, the sportsbook profit offsets the lay liability. If it loses, the Exchange winnings offset the sportsbook loss. Commission is charged only on net Exchange winnings.

  • Back wins: sportsbook returns the winning bet; the Exchange deducts liability.
  • Back loses: sportsbook stake is lost; the Exchange pays the lay winnings, less commission.
  • Total capital required: sportsbook back stake plus Exchange liability—not the lay stake plus the back stake.

BACK/LAY safety checks

  • Confirm the exact same event, selection, market, period and line on both sides.
  • Check the lay price and enough liquidity are still available before placing either bet.
  • Confirm your Exchange balance covers the full liability.
  • Use your actual commission rate; the wrong rate changes the hedge and profit.
  • Confirm both bets are fully accepted and matched. A pending or partially matched lay is not a complete hedge.
  • Void, abandonment, dead-heat and settlement rules can differ between operators.

Disclaimer

Even The Odds is an information and calculation service only. It does not accept, place, execute, manage or guarantee bets, and it is not a bookmaker, betting exchange, financial adviser or legal adviser. You make every betting decision yourself and remain responsible for checking all details directly with the relevant operator.

Odds, markets, liquidity, commission, event details, settlement rules and availability may change, be delayed, be incorrect or disappear without notice. An opportunity described as “arbitrage” is not guaranteed to produce a profit. Losses can arise from price movement, stake limits, rejected or partially matched bets, calculation or data errors, different settlement rules, voided markets, event changes, account restrictions, technical failures, timing delays or user error.

You must be legally permitted to gamble and meet the minimum legal age in your location. In Great Britain, gambling is restricted to people aged 18 or over. Check local law and each operator’s terms before using the service. Access to an operator, market or feature does not mean it is legal or suitable for you.

Never stake money needed for bills, debt repayments or essential living costs. Set limits, take breaks and never chase losses. Gambling can be harmful and should not be treated as a reliable source of income. If gambling is affecting you or someone close to you, stop using the betting features and seek specialist support.

Bookmakers and exchanges may restrict, suspend or close accounts, limit stakes, withhold promotions or request identity and source-of-funds checks. Even The Odds has no control over those decisions and is not responsible for operator actions or third-party service availability.
